The
PLACE Next Door.
When the Israelites crossed the
Jordan into the promised land, their first battle was Jericho.
It was an impossibility in man's eye, but when they followed the
Lord's instructions, the walls came tumbling down, and Jericho was
given into the Israelite's hands. At El Jordán, we've
grown into our building, seen a need to expand, and we prayerfully
refer to "the place next door" as: JERICHO!
At first, we thought El Jordán
was HUGE, but soon realized that we were going to outgrow our
facilities. With a church on our left, a run down house on the
right, we began praying that the lady on the right would want to
sell. A couple months later, Kitty said, "We really need
more space..." I (Corina) pointed to the place next
door... "Is it up for sale?" ... "Well,
not yet..."
So, there were two of us praying
for the place next door. In a meeting a while later, Renato
said, "We could really use more space..." Kitty and
I agreed, and pointed to the place next door... "Is it up for
sale?" ... "Well, not yet..." So
more people started praying for the place next door. I
shouldn't have been surprised when the lady next door decided to
sell ... did we want to make an offer?
By
October, the final payment should be complete and Jericho
will be ours! When we've raised the money for construction, we
plan to build a large building next door for classrooms, space for
child care, a large meeting room, and simple living quarters for
short term volunteers.
Please
continue praying with us for "the place next door".
Thank you. And, if you want more details, please let us know.
Because
He is Faithful,
Corina.
P.S.
There have been some delays in the purchasing of Jericho. The
funds for buying the property are all on hand, but there is one
document out of order, so the purchase is pending... please pray
with us that everything will be cleared up - in God's perfect
timing. (Nov. 20, 2002)
